What is Forest School?
Forest School is about teaching children using the outdoor environment, the ethos is about promoting confidence, self esteem and independence through small achievable tasks. All Forest School sessions are linked to the curriculum, with the emphasis on child-led learning.
While playing in nature children become motivated learners. They are engaged and work with others more effectively. Learning is transferred back into the classroom.
Forest School is a long term holistic learning process that aims to raise self-awareness and self-esteem in participants. Regular sessions take place in natural environments, where the landscape itself adds to the experience of learning. Qualified practitioners, trained in child development, self-esteem and learning theories facilitate sessions to gain personal outcomes for each participant. Forest School can be applied to all age groups and abilities and can be linked to the Australian National Curriculum and Early Years Learning Framework.
We are pleased to announce we have a number of Forest Learning opportunities - all this is training for adults!
The content for all learning opportunities are linked with the Australian Curriculum, My Time, Our Place and the Early Years Learning Framework.
