Primary School Twilight Workshops

Each of our 3hr 'Twilight' workshops have been designed to be personalised for your Primary School's strategic priorities and outdoor environment. These are usually run from 3.00pm-6.00pm Monday - Friday, however other times can also be arranged. Where possible, we will organise a pre-visit to your school to discuss the direction and focus of your workshop(s) prior to your whole team session(s). Workshops can be booked individually, or as a combination to be delivered within a timeframe that best suits your team.

Bus Tours

That's a great opportunity to visit a wide range of in service nature play areas and Bush Kindy sites out in the community! Open an honest Q&A sessions with service directors and leader educators about their journeys, including tips for overcoming barriers. Specialised workshops focusing on learning, development and schematic outdoor play, behaviour and risk management by Sandi Phoenix, Director of Phoenix Support and Anya Perkins, Education Coordinator and Forest School Leader, Nature Play QLD.

Embedding Outdoor Learning

This 1 Day Workshop for Primary School Educators is suitable for Primary School Teachers, Principals, and Deputy Principals, with all workshop content and modules mapped to the Australian National Curriculum (ACARA) and Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (AITSL). This workshop will provide primary school educators with the theoretical and practical knowledge and ideas, to embed regular outdoor learning opportunities at their school, whilst supporting ACARA and AITSL. The focus of the workshop is on planning, delivering and reflecting on curriculum lessons taken outside of the classroom and includes extensive resources to support progression and whole school implementation.

The team at The Outsiders are committed to championing authentic free play experiences for children. By day, the Outsiders all practice what they preach in the field so to speak as playworkers at Camp Hill Outside School Hours Care, a service known for its cutting edge application of genuine free play and playwork principles into the daily practice. Jump Up Outdoors: Big Ideas for Big Lunch Program

Creating a loose parts playground in your school/service is a low cost, sustainable yet very powerful solution to support healthy child development and learning.
Services such as schools, OSHC, kindergarten and childcare are in a unique position to provide regular, good quality, true play opportunities for their communities through play based curriculum work and play for play’s sake.
