Eddie Santagiuliana Way is a foreshore walking and cycling trail in the Raby Bay Harbour area that’s jam-packed full of amazing natural wonders to explore! The main section of the trail runs alongside Henry Ziegenfusz Park and south along the coastline, yet it stretches all the way from Cleveland Point to south of Thornlands, though some sections are connected by cutting through quiet streets.

This is a great place for a family walk or cycle, where you can really appreciate nature in all its glory. You can pass through a variety of unique habitats, spot wildlife and have lots of fun along the way! The trail features both concrete pathways and sections of boardwalk and is a generally easy walk with no steep hills, making it ideal for little legs to run along.

There are two duck ponds to visit, as well as a children’s playground for some extra fun! There are also toilets at Eddie Santagiuliana Way, and some drinking fountains along the way.

The scenery and sights at Eddie Santagiuliana Way are amazing. You won’t just see one landscape, you will pass through many! You can see wetlands and creeks, grassed areas and forest, bushland and mangroves — all on the one walk! And being by the coast, you can also expect to see some breathtaking views of the ocean and out to the islands.

Wildlife spotting at Eddie Santagiuliana Way

Eddie Santagiuliana Way is a great place for spotting wildlife, and each different habitat offers amazing new wildlife to encounter. The wetland areas are great for spotting birdlife, with thousands of migratory shorebirds visiting the Redlands area annually. In the forest and mangroves, you may be lucky to spot some bush stone-curlews, and look out for the beautiful glossy black-cockatoos foraging for food on the ground or in the trees. You can also look up in the trees for beautiful little red flying foxes roosting in the branches. Best of all, you may even spot koalas in the large gum trees! This really is a wildlife lover’s wonderland!

Eddie Santagiuliana Way is located at Raby Bay Harbour in Cleveland. It can be accessed through Henry Ziegenfusz Park on Fitzroy Street in Cleveland (where there is an off-street car park) or through several residential streets, including Island Street and Channel Street South in Cleveland, and Manning Esplanade in Thornlands.
