What is the Importance of Unstructured Outdoor Play in Children's Lives?
The Nature Play QLD team is proud to be bring this next installment of important community conversations that WILL make a difference in the lives of the children you support.
Unstructured outdoor play - nature play - is FUN-damental to a full and healthy childhood.
Join us on a journey into why unstructured outdoor play is so vital for children.
At ‘Just for the FUN of it’, we will explore the degree of fun and freedom in our children’s lives and the importance of developing an intrinsic love for outdoor play in our children, in order to achieve a well-balanced, healthy outdoor childhood.
Get active and inspired with hands-on nature play workshops, information, presentations and lots of opportunities for you to play both indoors and out.
We have the collective ability to create exceptional and lifelong positive impacts by simply encouraging outdoor play.
What practical steps can or should we take to ensure a happy, healthy and well-balanced future for our children?

These additional learning opportunities are for Symposium delegates, and you may choose one of the below learning oppportunities which run concurrently. Places are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Introduction to Forest Learning Workshop
Learn how to implement Forest Learning into your educational centre. Designed for educators working with children aged from 2 to 10 years, including early childhood, FDC, OSHC, home school and Primary School Educators. Learn more about here.
Cost: $220 inc GST (+ booking fee).
Nature Play Spaces Workshop
Learn to transform your outdoor play space to a nature play space at your school, educational centre, park or community space, or for your own business. For schools, kindergartens or daycare centres, local government, community organisations and more! Learn more about here.
Cost: $275 inc GST (+ booking fee).
Optional Items - Accommodation and Nature Play
On-site accommodation is available Friday 10 March and Saturday 11 March.
We are very pleased that we can provide you with affordable accommodation and meals, which you can opt for during the registration process.
Nature Play Opportunities, Sat 11 March - Start your morning of the Symposium immersed in nature and nurturing your playful mindset. Just for the fun of it. Choose from three optional early morning nature play activities:
1. Guided stand-up paddle board down the stunning Tallebudgera Creek.
2. Bushwalk through Burleigh Head National Park.
3. Morning yoga on the beach.
