Why has Mud World been cancelled?

Nature Play QLD has made the difficult decision to cancel Mud World Brisbane due to the unseasonably dry conditions severely affecting QLD.  N.B. All tickets including purchasing fees will be refunded in full to ticket holders within the fortnight.  This was not a decision taken lightly, but morally we could not move forward with a water based event given the current conditions around QLD. Nature Play QLD will be making a donation to Rural Aid in recognition of the effect drought is having right now on families across QLD.  If you would like to support Rural Aid by donating your ticket refund, click here to find out how:  https://www.ruralaid.org.au/donate/

If Mud World is cancelled, will my tickets be refunded?

Absolutely, in the event of Mud World being cancelled all tickets will be refunded in full to all ticket holders. The cancellation will be announced on the website and through our Social Media channels.

What is Mud World?

Nature Play QLD is a non-for-profit organisation and is holding a fundraising event. To find out more information about Nature Play QLD please have a look at our home page and have a look around at what we do. www.natureplayqld.org.au Mud World is a two-day children’s festival with a range of unstructured MUD play activities for children with the supervision of a parent or guardian, with a ratio of 1 adult to every 2 children. This will be a ticketed event per child, with supervising adults entering at a minimum price. The tickets will be sold in sets of 2-hour day sessions and the aim is to give you the best experience possible by utilising play with minimal structure and maximum fun as a family.

What is an unstructured nature play activity?

Nature play is unstructured play. It happens outside, in nature, where the play is child-directed rather than adult-directed. Adults have a crucial role in providing suitable environments and in facilitating children’s experiences. There are many research papers on the Nature Play QLD website to support this.

Is this an obstacle course?

This event is not an obstacle course. Between the hours of your designated session, your child/children will be given the freedom to roam the five realms at their own pace. Our aim is to give you the best experience possible by utilising PLAY with minimal structure and maximum fun as a family.

Is the mud safe for my child?

Yes, of course. Nature Play QLD has a philosophy that mud activities help a child to explore and grow in the freedom of play with the help of their peers. The mud will be made with the finest of ingredients – highest quality organic top soil (fertiliser free) and clean drinking water. We do advise that any children who have open sores or eczema are to not sit in mud for lengthy periods and rinse off regularly. We also strongly advise that all open sores are covered with appropriate medical adhesives. Concerned parents are to seek medical advice prior to event. Also, goggles are to be worn at all times to avoid eye injuries.

What is the cost of Mud World?

All Day Sessions - child ticket - $27.50 (plus booking fee) per child per session. Adult ticket - $5.50 (plus booking fee) per supervising adult or guardian.

Registration / When should I arrive?

Registration will open at the start time of your designated session. Please do not turn up prior to your session time as we will only start processing people into Mud World when the session starts. Please print out your ticket for entry. We will be checking off children’s names via the ticket you bring on the day. We also need to check that every child has appropriate supervision so please come as a complete group to ensure you have the correct numbers for us to admit your entry.

What age groups can attend Mud World?

This is a fun family event catered to children aged 0 – 14yrs, with the focus on the benefits of unstructured play activities. Please note we will have a specific area for 0 - 2 year olds (Muddy Monsterland), hence to be fair muddy bubbies pay, clean bubbies don't.

What do I bring and wear to Mud World?

This is going to be a messy event, so no need to dress to impress – both parents and children. Checklist would include – hat, sunscreen, play clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty! A clean change of clothes and a towel for the ride home would come in handy. We ask that children wear clothes and shoes at all times. Dirt and mud disclaimer - both parents and children will get dirty! By purchasing a ticket, you understand that this is a ‘dirty play’ activities festival for children. Your child will also receive a FREE pair of awesome goggles to protect their eyes from the mud.

What happens if I want to change my session time?

We will always try and help with all ticketing issues, but it will also come down to ticket availability. Please contact [email protected]

Do I have to stay for the whole session?

You are not obligated to stay for the entire time selected, you are most welcome to enter and exit as you please.

How many parents must attend with each child?

We require one supervising adult to attend and actively supervise up to two children.

Will there be food and shade onsite?

We will have a range of food vendors at the event and the beautiful surroundings of Samford Village.

Shade is limited as its such a vast area so feel free to bring an umbrella or marquee and set yourself up with a picnic rug and camping chairs to make yourself comfortable.

Can I clean myself and child before exiting?

Sure can, part of Mud World will be a wash down station with water hoses to wash off all the fun, please bring a towel and a change of cloths to suit your needs.

Where do I park?

Baden Powell Scouts have generously allowed us to park on site but please allow enough time to park and walk to the location.

Can I contact someone to inquire more details?

Sure can, feel free to contact us, via the contact page.

Can I have a birthday party at Mud World?

Of course you can! We even advise it as one of the best parties to remember for the rest of your children's life! More than that, to help you out in organising the party we created invitation templates for you to download and use. Check them out HERE. If you would like to book over ten tickets for your party please email us at [email protected] and we will sort out your tickets directly!

Would you like to suggest us a new Mud World location?

We get a lot of requests to bring Mud World to a suburb near you. There is a way for you to suggest a location – send us an email with your contact details and the address of your suggested location, and one of our mudding experts will get in touch to discuss more. Keep in mind, we need a slope for sliding enjoyment, enough space for our five mud realms and for patron parking. Please email [email protected] or call 0417 494 706. Thank you.
