Using Nature Tools to Make Marks: Nature Art for Educators

Work with the WildArt team as we utilise a variety natural mark making techniques on fabrics and recycled materials to create beautiful layered effects utilising a range of products from repurposed kitchen waste to native plants, mud and paints. Participants will take home a fabric art piece, inspiration and knowledge to continue exploring their own creative technique.

Be inspired by the surrounding Sunshine Coast natural landscape, as we explore and use minerals, leaves, bark, natural paints and other experimental substances. During this half day workshop participants will apply these natural products to pieces of fabric using various dyeing and printing techniques. Learn how to make your own paint brushes, process plant matter to create your own natural paints and identify plant fibres to make rope to tie your pieces together. Be inspired to explore the beauty of making marks from the natural environment.

Some time will be set aside for connecting to the natural surroundings, making the day mindfully healing as well as a learning experience.
