Set on the edge of Brisbane’s 36400 ha D’Aguilar National Park, Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre offers the chance to see native animals up close at the wildlife centre, or if you’re lucky enough, spot one in their natural habitat. It’s nature play at its very best!
The Information Centre showcases many of Queensland’s national parks through a Virtual Lookout featuring magnificent sights and inspiring landscapes! It’s also the place to find out more about D’Aguilar National Park – a diverse landscape which stretches from Lake Wivenhoe in the west to Mount Mee in the north.
In the Wildlife Centre you can view wildlife in natural exhibits that replicate their actual habitat. It is almost as good as seeing them ‘in the wild’! Be astounded by South East Queensland’s biodiversity! The wildlife centre is home to reptiles, amphibians, fish and mammals.
There are two short walks that both start nearby to the Information Centre – the Araucaria and Corymbia circuits. Both circuits are suitable for families and require no bushwalking experience. You can also walk or paddle around the nearby Enoggera Reservoir. There’s also some lovely spots to stop for a picnic.
